Jardin Wall – The smart wall greening of the future

Jardin Wall – The smart wall greening of the future

At W+P, we are constantly on the lookout for forward-looking products, topics and technologies that will help us to create promising long-term working environments for our customers. As part of our vision to realize C0²-neutral projects, the concept of “tangible sustainability” is a focus of our daily work.

With the “Jardin Wall” from a start-up in Klagenfurt, we have found a smart and sustainable product that is more than just conventional wall greening.

Using integrated sensors for humidity, temperature, air quality, light intensity and water level, each individual plant element as well as the peripheral conditions are measured and analyzed in real time. In addition, the plant is supplied automatically. The data is then evaluated centrally via an app and can be viewed on data dashboards. By collecting the data and the corresponding analysis options, the smart wall increasingly improves itself and can adapt the care of the plants to the individual care requirements.

Another advantage of the green wall is the numerous design options. For example, the separate plant containers can be adapted to customer requirements (color, material, shape and size) and the modular structure of the system means that differentiated “wall pictures” can be produced.

As the concept of the start-up from Klagenfurt has convinced us, we are already implementing the product in one of our projects in Munich in the context of a developed design concept.

We are also very much looking forward to the prototype of the product, which is designed in the shape of our W+P logo and will be installed in our Living Lab / WOW in Frankfurt’s Westhafen Tower in the coming weeks.

Together with the start-up, we will be taking a close look at the various functions and data processing. In addition to collecting data on indoor air quality, our tests will focus in particular on the efficient operational handling of the vertical elements.

We will also look at the use of the intelligent system outdoors.

❯  Visually appealing and individually adaptable design

❯   Automated maintenance of the workplace planting

❯   Sensors that record and analyze the environmental conditions

❯   Self-learning system that continuously improves care

Special situations require special measures!

Special situations require special measures!

As part of the upcoming move to the Macherei, our client initiated a furniture tender with the help of W+P. The focus of this is on topics such as design, accessibility, functionality, comfort and sustainability. The suppliers were able to exhibit the tendered furniture on April 12 and 13, 2021 at our customer’s premises in Haar and convince individual employee representatives of their product features.

Participating in the exhibition are:

The campaign and the presentation of the suppliers were accompanied by a camera team. The resulting footage allows employees who were unable to witness the events live to take a virtual tour of the exhibition.

The showroom at our customer’s premises is available to staff for a total of two weeks. This means that every employee can test, touch, experience and evaluate the furniture – in compliance with the Corona requirements.

Another highlight is the installation of QR codes in the exhibition areas, e.g. at Haworth. These allow the real and virtual showroom to merge. By scanning the QR code with a mobile device, the visitor is forwarded directly to the online showroom and can view the areas here regardless of time and place.

Our special thanks go to the manufacturers. They spared neither effort nor expense to make the event possible for us – under strict Corona conditions.

W+P crowns its 10th anniversary with the TOP CONSULTANT 2021 award

W+P crowns its 10th anniversary with the TOP CONSULTANT 2021 award

Leap into the consulting elite: W+P workspace consulting GmbH, formerly Dr. Wagner & Partner, has been awarded the TOP CONSULTANT seal 2021. This makes W+P one of the 16 best SME consultants in Germany and officially confirms its successful track record since its foundation in 2011: 125 satisfied customers and 22,000 employees in over 300,000 square meters of new working environments.

“We are delighted with the team award and take it as motivation to continue working intensively on urgent issues for the future, such as the carbon-neutral office,” explains Dr. Roman Wagner, founder and Managing Director.

W+P also sees itself as a pioneer in this area and invests one euro per consultant hour in sustainable companies and digital products such as the Jardin Wall – an AI-supported and sensor-controlled greenery in the office – via its own future fund. “We achieve the greatest effect as a multiplier when we raise awareness among our customers and their employees.”

Co-Managing Director Jens Schneider is also convinced: “A future-oriented working environment is an essential prerequisite for motivating employees and increasing their productivity – it enables agile working and creates acceptance for the necessary transformation in the face of ever new challenges. Even after the pandemic, this momentum will play a decisive role in attracting new ideas, customers and employees.”

Modern, sustainable and undisturbed small working environment with a view of the countryside

Modern, sustainable and undisturbed small working environment with a view of the countryside

The world of work is changing. While working from home was still unthinkable for the majority of employees at the beginning of 2020, it has now become part of everyday life for almost a quarter of the workforce in Germany (24%). [1]

We have all experienced first-hand that working from home can be enriching for employees in many ways. There is no need to travel, you have more flexibility in your own time management and self-determined and independent work is encouraged.

However, the working environment and conditions are very different for each individual. For many, working within their own four walls therefore becomes a test of endurance, which means that working from home does not make it easier for everyone to balance their professional and private lives. There is often a higher risk of distraction, the boundaries between private and professional life become blurred, people suffer from a lack of space or the office equipment is not ergonomic.

To counteract this problem and to generate and test a working environment that takes our new working habits into account, we have launched the “Tiny Office House” project. The aim of this project is to supplement our “Living Lab” in Frankfurt with a modern and quiet workspace in the garden, combining the advantages of both working environments. One thing we can already say today: with the Tiny Office House, we have created a natural retreat that has a positive effect on people’s well-being, concentration, creativity and therefore also their health.

In addition, the 8 square meter Tiny Office House from W+P combines the following features under one roof:

  • Modular design – in three sizes S, M and L
  • Optional equipment with office space, kitchenette, recreation area
  • Sustainable materials and self-sufficient energy supply
  • C0² positive floor covering from Interface
  • Modular equipment of Vepa

Now that construction has been completed, the test phase will begin, during which the small office will be put through its paces and experienced in a real working context. The findings will be used to further develop this innovative and sustainable working environment. We are also looking forward to sharing these in-depth insights with you and giving you an impression of this new way of working.

If you don’t want to miss any updates on our Tiny Office House, then follow us on Instagram, LinkedIn or XING.
